  • Looks don't matter”. What the person is saying is: “This is a really complex and confusing issue where people judge others based off a physical idea via. A study shows attractive women get preferential treatment under certain conditions. But do good looking men have a similar advantage?. What's even more embarrassing is how bad most Americans actually look. know, which is that looks do matter, maybe even more than most of us think.

    Really Do Matter Looks

Good design exudes confidence and professionalism for your business or brand. It makes your communications easier to read, navigate and understand. It sends strong brand cues to your customers and prospects. It differentiates your message from your competitors. It builds brand equity. It can also be a source of tremendous pride for your employees.

These are all vitally important things for any business. Trouble is, the reverse is also true. Poorly executed design and typography can have a hugely negative impact on your communications and your brand. Worse still, poorly considered design can undermine your existing brand image very quickly.

The big white man is in power and is naturally a leader. The female is the wife or the girlfriend or if she is a lesbian then she had emotional issues with men which is why she is with women. The gay man is perverted, The black man is in the service industry and the black woman is exotic and people with disabilities are invisible.

Decent people are identified by their actions, not by what they claim. You can see it in how they treat people.

All people have a right to groom themselves and wear clothing that best compliments them. And shows them in a good light. If you want to wear makeup then by all means where makeup. If people are shaming you for steps that you are taking to look decent then this is emotional manipulation.

In most societies there is a social standing that grooming is somewhat important. Good hygiene and neat tidy appearance is an agreed upon idea that is about us respecting others by respecting ourselves. I mean clothing and posture that enhances them. Women are built to make exceptions based on a mans looks. Now, these women are starting to choose like men. Everyone thinks they deserve the best. Less people getting married, less people in relationships and more competition.

We have internet, porn, money, friends and friends with benefits. Literally nothing enticing about chasing a woman for the chance of getting her attention. You think this is the first wave of feminism to hit humanity? In 5 to 10 years women will literally be beginning men to date let alone marry them. Feminism will die and balance will favor men again until the next wave. One is that we are born with an innate desire for beauty because it represents good health in potential mates so we have an internal beauty detector.

Another reason is that it brings us pleasure. We are visual creatures we like looking at and being around prettiness. This does not make us shallow because we are born this way. Even babies like looking at beautiful faces and stare at them longer than others.

Another thing that science shows is that beauty is more objective than we thought. A plethora of data show that there are certain characteristics that are universally found beautiful, e.

This explains the success of super models, movie stars, and magazines like playboy. So there exist a objective beauty standard. Here's the thing pulchritude is rare - most people are average to unattractive. Beauty like intelligence and wealth is not distributed evenly among the population. This fact along with the special treatment and all the attention that beautiful people receive creates envy in the have nots.

As a result some say looks don't matter, it's so shallow to care about looks but we are wired to care about looks. It's out of envy. Even former First Lady Elenore Roosevelt said that she wished that she had been pretty, when asked about her regrets.

There are lots of books about how important looks are: Notice how these things are honest indicators of underlying traits? That's why glitz and excess makeup isn't attractive- they are easily faked and an indication of a gap in the person's actual nature. This also applies to personality, confidence, caring, responsibility, etc….

So looks matter, a lot, especially when you first getting to know someone. But once that over with, what else do you have to continue whatever it is? Can you be a good partner with a good look alone? Be a good model?

Be a good son? Be a good daughter? But not to everyone. Some people instantly judge based on looks. I have to say I am one of those people. If I were to see a scary looking, beat up man with lots of tattoos and piercings, my instincts would tell me to stay away.

But seriously, this is actually a really controversial issue, agreeing with one side makes the other side mad at you. Same if you disagree. So this is just my take. Laying the ground work for my answer with some simple self professed axioms. Truth for the matter of fact is some people learn to see beyond external appearance and see the substance underneath but those people are very few and many of us still like to hang on to the outer without giving any thought about the inner.

We make a million split second judgements about a person based on their looks. Sometimes we are right. Sometimes we are wrong. You can't judge a book by its cover. But you can't force me to read a book that looks boring! And the book that looks exciting to me might look stupid to someone else. I love long hair and man buns on men. I can't help it. I stare whenever i see a man with a ponytail. The majority of women dont like that because they think it looks feminine.

If a hot guy has long hair they think he'd look better with a cut.

Getting Ahead at Work: Looks Really Do Matter

I agree that looks should not matter, and a person's character should be measured by what they do, not what they look like. Unfortunately, this is. Among men considered moderately attractive, women do pick the guy who had the most desirable personality traits. Looks do matter. It may not be politically correct and it's certainly not fair but the undeniable truth, established beyond any doubt by dozens of.
